Mine HNT cryptocurrency
with available hotspots made in Europe

The combination of HNT cryptocurrency with LoRaWAN network technology is an incentive to expand the network's coverage. All this to make it available to all IoT devices in the world.

A hotspot (gateway) works like the router that everyone uses to transmit a WiFi signal. The difference is that Helium hotspots don’t transmit WiFi signal. Helium hotspots transmit a long range signal based on LoRa modulation, over many kilometres in the open, unlicensed band.

The Helium Network Token (HNT) is extracted by the hotspot (LoRaWAN gateway) during LongFi (LoRaWAN) wireless network operations.

The idea of Helium LongFi is to embed BlockChain Software into a compatible LoRaWAN gate.

After connecting to the nearest hotspot, a proof of coverage is sent. This confirms that the gateway is ready to operate in the LoRa network. Receiving confirmation of the gateway readiness to work and connection of devices to the networks created by them, activates the generation of HTN cryptocurrency, using a "digger" built into the gateway.

Helium - more information

The founders of the project are Shawn Fanning, Sean Carey and Amir Haleem. Shawn Fanning has already succeeded in global innovation by founding the Napster network. His charisma and idea to build a global network LongFi convinced financial investors, who have already invested more than $540m in Helium Network Token (HNT). The cryptocurrency debuted on a cryptocurrency exchange in 2016 and has been on the rise ever since.

The Helium network was created by US-based Helium Systems in 2013 to build the world's first peer-to-peer wireless IoT network. LoRaWAN was chosen as the leading technology at the time.

Worth mentioning is the very good propagation of LoRa, allowing data transmission from places perceived as difficult to maintain coverage. From places such as manholes, basements, reinforced concrete structures, production halls or highly urbanised areas. Another advantage is the energy efficiency of transmission in a LoRaWAN network. It allows the use of batteries in devices intended for long-term operation. There is no need to run power cables.

LoRaWAN is also open-band transmission, which doesn’t require payment to telecommunications operators. It is perceived as an attractive alternative to mobile networks.

In business projects related to smart metering, logistics and smart city, LoRaWAN network is growing very rapidly. Therefore, a proposal to provide global coverage with an open network of Helium has been addressed to global market of IoT devices.

The Helium network is the world's first spontaneously spreading hotspot network with global coverage. It provides public LoRaWAN wireless coverage with no administrative obstacles to its users.

Helium Systems Inc developed the LongFi technology which is a combination of LoRaWAN wireless protocol and Helium's blockchain technology. LongFi technology was published as an open source which enabled manufacturers to develop their own gateways compatible with Helium (hotspots).

Kerlink is a leading European manufacturer of hotspots. Their equipment is used both in commercial LoRaWAN networks and crypto ‘mining’ in Poland. JM elektronik is the promoter of LoRaWAN technology and a distributor of Kerlink gateways in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.
